AI Response

After viewing this film I tend to side with Dreyfus' thoughts on robots. This films is placed in world in which they build a robot that can love. This child robot David does in fact love, or at least so it seems. But is it really a love for Monica, or merely an infatuation for her. I believe this is how Dreyfus would view it. Humans can't simply program something to love. In this movie David is programmed to love is mother, but if he is programmed to do so, than can it really be love? Can we really program human emotions? Love seems to be something that we as humans can hardly explain. I can't fully express into words the love that I feel. So if we as humans can't fully express love, how can we program something to love? It is almost impossible to fully define human emotions. Since emotions cannot be fully defined they cannot be fully programmed. You may be able to create something that looks and feels like love on the outside but once you reach inside you will realize that this love isn't full. Love is endless, and powerful, people do things in love, that do not seem to make sense. This is why robots cannot love, because robots would be programmed logically, when in a sense, love is an illogical.
