Technical activity automatically eliminates every nontechnical activity or transforms it into technical activity. This does not mean, however, that there is any conscious effort or directive will. Jacques Ellul

I don’t really think you can define a culture just by one particular drink or beverage. That’s what I believe is so fascinating. Not one thing can really define a whole culture. Some people mentioned beer as the drink that defines our culture, but it doesn’t really seem as though that would work. It is impossible to just pick on specific drink to define a whole nation or culture. Even the more common ones in America, Gatorade, Coca Cola, etc…really couldn’t define it. When talking about just the US, it still would be impossible to define it with one simple thing. The US is so multi-dimensional that it just simply cannot be defined so easily. It is also ever-changing…if one were to finally figure out what drink defines the US as a nation, it would change sometime shortly after. It is simply just too hard to pinpoint a drink to define such a large subject.
