Technical activity automatically eliminates every nontechnical activity or transforms it into technical activity. This does not mean, however, that there is any conscious effort or directive will. Jacques Ellul

Journal 12
Both the movie Artificial Intelligence and the episode of Star Trek allow one to understand the idea of robots and the art of artificial thinking. The movie and the episode help me to understand more of the idea of a robot being able to think and comprehend what asimov is talking about in his book, "Robot Visions." It is interesting to see that in the movie and in the episode that both robots or machines are fighting to be considered "real." Yet, going back to what Dreyfus was discussing, neither of these machines could become real because they cannot feel or think without going through every possible situation in their binary codes. Both of these robots seem to be special and almost give off the idea that they are able to feel, even though we know better than to believe that a machine could have feelings for a human being or any other being for that matter.
