Technical activity automatically eliminates every nontechnical activity or transforms it into technical activity. This does not mean, however, that there is any conscious effort or directive will. Jacques Ellul

Counterbalancing effects of technology
This is a thought that was brought about from Borgmann on that it is important to encourage activates such as reading and story telling of stories in order to counterbalance the effects of modern technology. I would have to agree with Borgmann on this, my reason for agreeing on this is with modern technology it is an ever growing thing that does not stop of it is possible to create something than it will be made which could destroy our culture and interaction with family’s, and friends some technologies create a more keep to your self kind of interaction the kids do now a days do there own thing and families don’t interact together as much as they use to. Modern technology could create its own new culture that is a full focus on technology. Activities such as reading and story telling is an older fashion way of finding out information and spreading of information now with technology humans go to Google or yahoo search engines such as these to find out the new information and the face to face interrelation between people is taken away. There is a need to counterbalance this or this old way of learning and spreading of information will sooner or later fade away.
