Dreyfus on search engines

With the search engine it seems as if this sticks more closely to the original thought of the internet. This original thought was to catalog research and information. However, it seems the search enngine which should be a helpful resource has gotten farther away from this concept. The computer cannot distinguish from a legitimate source and one that is not. Since the internet is the way it is anyone can make a web page. Just because one can make a webpage doesn;t mean they should. One internet post could be one you're could be relevant to the search, but it may not be a valid source.
There should be a way in which the search engine is ordered, where the most scholarly material is the first information the search engine returns. I don't know how difficult of a task this would be to put together, but it seems like it would be in the best interest of the users of the search engines to try to make that happen.
One problem that arises is that when one looks up information they may not know how to tell if they are looking at a valid source. This lets people believe that what they read is true. So this creates a problem where many people start to believe things that simply aren't true.

The search engine is a nice tool to have in theory it is amazing. The Idea behind the search engine is to bring up the information that you are looking for. That what it dose but not in a orderly fashion and sometime it dose not even bring up the thing you were looking for. The search engine brings up many things of information, in the thousands of information that is related to your topic and it is not very organized ether but that’s just cause the computer can not get the feeling that you are trying to put into the word. The search engine is a helpful resource as long as you can find you source to be creditable just like it says anyone can make a website and put information into it which can lead people to think that it is real when in fact it is not. For an example just say you are trying to look up old newspaper articles about yourself at one I could find them all and later on the are scattered all over the search and you have to look deep to find it. The search engine is a helpful thing but must be used right and not expect the computer to fully understand what you want.
