Technical activity automatically eliminates every nontechnical activity or transforms it into technical activity. This does not mean, however, that there is any conscious effort or directive will. Jacques Ellul

Blog 4 ihde reading
The text was very difficult for me to interpret. I did understand some of what he was trying to say throughout the text. He starts out talking about a new eden in which there will be no more technology at all. According to ihde everyone culture uses technology in some way shape or form. Ihde states that even the simplest form of culture uses technology such as people killing for food, starting a fire and so forth. In todays society and world it would literally be impossible to live without the use of technology. Today our world is so complex that technology is needed for nealy everything. In the text Ihde talks about Heidegger and to explain technology Heidegger uses the simple tool the "Hammer". This illustrates that even the simplest tools are forms of technology. Heidegger then explains the hammer when in use it isnt really an object untill a human notices that its broke or not there. In conclusion Ihde seems to optimistic for technology for the ays that he talked about many of other philosophers and how they see tehnology as everything.
