I forgot to mention in my last post that I would like your reactions to Koyaanisquatsi to appear on our blog by Monday of next week (1/23).

Although I believe that the movie did truly express the state of technology in the world, and its effect on nature, I think that the director over-used a single idea. After reading more about the series of films from the website below, it seems like the exact same methods were used for all three. The repetition sort of turned me off to the work afterwards.

Turning back to the positive aspects, wikipedia also provides information we didn't get to see in the film. Right at the end of the movie, apparently there is a quote, "If we dig precious things from the land, we will invite disaster." I think this summarizes the whole point of this "infomercial" about technology. Because we have depleted our natural sources, as shown through the film, we are now subject to the consequences.

Also, some Zeppelin would have been really cool for the technology scences.
