Technical activity automatically eliminates every nontechnical activity or transforms it into technical activity. This does not mean, however, that there is any conscious effort or directive will. Jacques Ellul

Class this Week
Over the past week, we watched the Star Trek movie in a couple of the classes. This movie is the exemplification of the two sides to the philosophical debate on technology. On one side you have technology advanced and helping humanity and the culture reach new heights that impact the world positively. On the other, you have the dark side of the debate where technology has destroyed culture as a whole and assimilated all into a collective being. I basically took that from those classes, it hammered home the topics of the course thus far for me.

I agree it is a good example of how technology has its pros and cons it can be used to better are society but also could be used for negative things as well it depends on the responsability of those using the technology.
