Life in the Future

Since watching Star Trek in the past couple classes I have been wondering what life will be like in the future and if it would be somewhat like Star Trek. Technologies would constantly still be advancing and we would have things that we wouldn't even dream 0r thought of yet. We just might be able to travel around space for years without hesitation and not really have to come back to earth. There could be robots who want to be as human as possible and lazer guns more dangerous then the ones we have now. Obviously the Borg would be the worst thing about the future and avoiding them (if our future was somewhat like Star Trek). In the future I would hope there wouldn't be any monster like creatures like the Borg who wanted to make everyone the same and achieve what they think is perfection. There is always the possibility though. The other really interesting thing that I caught in Star Trek was there was no money or type of currency in the future. That is a really hard thing to grasp. The world would be a very different place without money. In todays world you can't get by without it obviously. To me this seemed a little unrealistic just because money is a big part of our society now. Even though Star Trek is science fiction, its hard not imagine if that is what the future could be like. Who knows what the future holds in store for us but I believe it will be anything but unextraodinary.
