In my New Media class we looked at the University of Kentucky's homepage because about 5 years ago UK did not even have a school website. In our ethics and technology class we have talked about how technology is taking over our lives in so many ways, and if people don't keep up with that technology that is a huge disadvantage. With UK not having a school website they were not up to par with the other major schools around the United States. UK finally got up to date with the technology changes and now have a website that is directed at letting perspective students see what life would be like as a UK student. This example just shows that people have to stay up to date with technology. If schools, companies, and people do not stay up to date with technology it is seen as very bad. It is crazy to think that people feel they have to keep up with technology in order to make it in this world. Technology makes everything a competition to be the best and have the best.

I would have to agree that it is almost a technological war, if you are not up to date with technology, you are not up to date with the current society. It is almost scary to think what will happen because of this, the constant want to have the better technology, it makes scientists try to produce better and better technology, taking us further and further from what we used to think as the normal life.
there is little argument about the technological race, but what is hard to determine is whether this is truly a bad thing or not.
